In England there are still real Yamaha fans who ride their old Yamaha's on the track. David Smith even competes regularly at the "Manx Grand Prix" on the Isle of Man.

David's machine is not entirely original anymore. Many modifications over the years were necessary to keep the machine competitive.

But if Yamaha had produced the TD1C as you see it here........ it would have saved a lot of headaches, nightmares and money!

But David kept the original layout of the Yamaha TD1C, that is very nice I think.

The tyres are also much better than the original 1968 "shoes"........

And although the Yamaha brake was very famous in its day, the modern twin-leading shoe brake is definitely 10 times better.
