Yamaha RD350/TZ 1974

Published Date

Al Nesbitt from Nebraska, USA has this very nice Yamaha RD350. It is a 1973 machine converted to road race trim. He has finally decided to sell the bike. If anyone is interested, just sent an e-mail to me, I'll forward it to Al-San! (I do this as an exception, so do not send me any other "for sale" objects, please !!)

The Yamaha RD350 with VIN frame number 351-108939 was converted by the Yamaha dealer from Galesburg, Illinois, USA, in the Spring of 1974. They used original Yamaha roadrace parts to make this motorcycle. This is a very good example of what you can do with an older Yamaha and cannot find all the original parts for it.

(you can "click"all 4 photos for large format !)

The fairing is a Yamaha item, as well as the exhaust pipes. Looks like the gas tank and seat are "specials", or they are modified race items (look at the gascap).

"Galesburg Yamaha" fitted the racing carburettors and TZ cylinderheads.

The alloy wheel rims show off also very well. Original fairing bracket used. Mirror on the handlebar is very stylish !!
